Award winner: On My Way Award

2022 - you have been incredible!

On 3 December 2022 I was thrilled to win the award for the “On My Way” category at the Women with Altitude Awards.

It’s an award that recognises the best new business or start-up that has been operating under two years.

When my name was announced I was shocked! It was an amazing feeling to be nominated and an even more amazing feeling to win!

When I got to the stage to get my award, I had forgotten what I wanted to say. All the emotions floated to the surface and I had a few tears stream down my face. It was the first time I had truly stopped and recognised what I have been doing and what I have achieved.

Since starting my business, Kylie James Coaching as a side hustle in 2021, it’s been a rollercoaster with plenty of highs and some low moments as I have navigated the vulnerability, unknowns and uncertainty, the doubts and imposter syndrome, the lessons learned and the amazing successes.

In February I took the leap away from my corporate career to work in my business full-time and follow my dreams.

Since then, I’ve been part of three co-authored international best selling books, been on the cover of a magazine, spoken at events, and coached the most amazing clients so they too can follow their passion and dreams.

In May, I expanded my business to include HR consulting so leaders and their teams can re-discover their purpose, reset their goals and create their new future.

In October, The Mid-Life Mayhem and Magic Community was created as I wanted to provide a non-judgmental space where women can connect and not feel so alone and invisible as they travel through their mid-life years and deal with all the things that come up at this time in our lives.

I have met inspiring people who are doing incredible things. They are passionate about what they do and how they want to make a difference in this world through their business or career.

I want to say a big thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way. I’ve appreciated all of your advice, kindness, patience and encouragement.

Thank you to Women with Altitude and the sponsor, Affordable Web Solutions for this recognition.

Thank you to Christine Innes and Annette Densham for believing in me and for showing me how to share my story.

To my coaching and consulting clients - you are all awesome. I love working with you. I can’t wait to see what you achieve in the future!

To my coaches and mentors - thank you for the chats, the laughs and for letting me shed the tears when I’ve needed to.

To Jules James (aka mum and dad) - thanks for your love and support along the way.

To Rochelle von Berger and Lisa Strandberg - thanks for listening to and joining in with all my crazy thoughts and ideas. You know there are more conversations around the corner!

A special shout out goes to Sean Ferrari who has been by my side all the way - cheering me on as I’ve chased my dreams, being the mirror we all need at times and giving me a reality check even when I haven’t wanted to hear it and believing in me when I didn’t. Thanks for looking after our little Ruby last night so I could go and celebrate!

Everyone has asked me, what’s next?!? Most people who know me would know I’ve got big ideas and dreams for 2023 and beyond because I want to help more people, teams and organisations become visible in their own world and be the best they can be. Watch this space and feel free to reach out if you want to be part of the journey!

For now though, I am going to take a breath and enjoy all that has come out of 2022.

One last comment for today - keep dreaming big, chase your dreams and celebrate all the things in life because you deserve it!
